Account Deletion

Effective date: July 8, 2026.

This page explains how GymBuddy users can request deletion of their app account and associated data. This page is intended to satisfy Google Play’s requirement for a functional web resource where users can request app account deletion without reinstalling the app.

How to request account deletion

  • Email support@gymsbuddy.org with the subject line “GymBuddy account deletion request”.
  • Include your full name, the email address or phone number used to sign in, your role, and your gym name or gym code if available.
  • If you no longer have access to the registered email/phone, include enough information for us to verify account ownership before deletion.
  • If you are a gym owner, tell us whether you are requesting deletion of only your personal owner account or closure/deletion of the entire gym workspace.

What data is deleted or anonymized

  • Supabase authentication account and app profile identifiers.
  • Direct account fields such as name, phone number, avatar URL, role profile data, and device tokens.
  • In-app notifications tied only to your account.
  • Community posts, comments, likes, and uploaded media authored by you, unless limited retention is needed for safety, dispute, or legal reasons.
  • Trainer/member profile links where deletion is requested by the account holder and no legal/business retention need applies.
  • Support tickets and feedback authored by you may be deleted or anonymized after the request is resolved.

What may be retained

  • Payment, refund, settlement, tax, and accounting records needed for legal compliance, fraud prevention, chargeback handling, or audit trails.
  • Gym operational records that belong to a gym workspace, such as attendance history, membership ledgers, invoices, plan history, and trainer/member assignments, may be retained in anonymized or limited form where the gym has a legitimate operational or legal need.
  • Security logs and abuse-prevention records may be retained for a limited period.
  • Backups may retain deleted data temporarily until normal backup rotation completes.

Deletion timeline

We aim to acknowledge deletion requests within 3 business days. Verified deletion requests are generally completed within 30 days. Complex requests, payment disputes, legal holds, ownership disputes, or gym workspace closure requests may take up to 90 days. We will tell you if more time is needed.

Before requesting deletion

  • Download or record anything you need before deletion, such as membership dates, invoices, support messages, or plan history.
  • Cancel any active paid subscription or resolve pending gym/payment disputes if applicable.
  • Deletion may remove access to your gym workspace, member portal, trainer assignments, plans, community content, and payment history in the app.
